2020: Dream Camera Come Rescue Me

A typical selfie: taking a photo of yourself in front of a mirror. 😉 Taken with a Fujifilm x100f.

In an ideal world, or, if I was granted the opportunity to have my own customized camera, these would be some of my ideal specs:

  • Image stabilization
  • Flip out screen
  • No zoom lens
  • Fixed lens if possible
  • Shutter speed and aperture dials control on the outer body of the camera
  • Rangefinder camera size
  • Auto ND-Filter inside
  • In-body flash
  • Self-timer
  • Retro design if possible
  • Reliable auto focus

Thus I really loved that the Fuji x100f was able to accomplish most of what I desire in my dream camera. I really love that tiny joy stick when using it to move the focus on the screen.

A photo of the insides of the Alhambra in Granada, España. Taken with the Fujifilm x100f.

When I take pictures in public, I want to be discreet as possible even when I’m asking strangers for their photos. I feel like a huge lens is not only heavy but incredibly intimidating.

A self-portrait of me in front of window at my AirBnB in Granada, haha. Taken with the Fujifilm x100f. 😉

While I could use a smartphone, I want high quality images and to be able to control the shutter speed and aperture manually. Alas, my dream camera is perhaps still years away but for now I’ll stick with my Fujifilm x100f

What’s your go-to camera? What do you look for in a camera?

I hope you’re well! 🙂
