Nostalgia: 2015: New York Comic Con

I took a photo of Batman (sort of a Superman Transformation) and his enemies. Left to Right: Bane, Joker, Batman, Penguin , and Two Face.

Lately, I’ve been feeling nostalgic. Or rather I’m always feeling nostalgic, especially in this day age. Do you get that feeling, too?

So a couple of weeks ago, I watched The Batman film directed by Matt Reeves. And I really enjoyed the cinematography by Greig Fraser, the characters, and the story in this film.

Thus it got me thinking of the time that my friends and I cosplayed as DC comic-book characters at the 2015: New York Comic-Con. We got to parade around in a mixture of steampunk and superheroes/villainesses.

My friends and I cosplayed together as steampunk DC characters. Left to Right: Black Canary, Poison Ivy, Penguin, Ra’s al Ghul, Batgirl, and Harley Quinn.

I’m cosplaying as Black Canary in steampunk attire.

While at this Comic-Con, we got to see a whole range of people dressed from superheroes, villains, princesses, and other various characters.

While dressing up in costume can seem like a childish thing, it’s actually a form of occupation – albeit a fun one.

Overall, looking back on this event has indeed made me feel more wistful of a time when it was fun to be photographed, younger, and perhaps even free.

(Who is the real Batman? Find out next time! (; Photo by moi.
