I hope it’s safe to say that I adore Thai Culture. (:
So a couple of weeks ago, I went to a local Thai Faire hosted by a Buddhist community near my hometown. And these were some of the things that I saw and did there:
Dine, Drink, and Be Merry!

Pad Thai, Pad See Ew (stir-fried noodles), Bubble Tea, and much more were some delights to choose from. Most of them cost less than $15.
Sing Karaoke Live

“Let’s get physical,” I heard someone bellowing through the mic. Those were one of the many karaoke song options. Oh, goodness. Well, I made a fool of myself singing “Dancing Queen, too,” but people clapped for me, at least. And, of course, if you know Thai, you could sing all the Thai songs you wanted. (;
Go Inside a Buddhist Temple and Get a Blessing from a Monk

Inside, the local temple felt serene. Although there were a few people inside, it felt like you were the only one there. Also, I asked the monk for a blessing, and even though I’m a Catholic Christian, he offered a prayer in Thai before sprinkling holy water on me and giving me a bracelet.
Shop for Plants & Clothes

If food or singing isn’t your fancy, there were plenty of plants and clothes to check out!
People Watch

People watching is fun in general. As an artist, it gives me a few angles to shoot a picture/video. Whatever the case, the Faire had many people-watching opportunities.
All in all, this local Thai Faire was exciting. It provided a lot of culture and places to explore overall. I’ll be at the next Faire!
