2023: Admiring the Art in the New York Public Library

Two weeks ago, I visited the New York Public Library in Manhattan, New York. It’s open from 10 AM to 6 PM usually. And it’s accessible to the public.

You’ll have to climb three flights of stairs to check out the mural art.

The New York Public Library has numerous branches. I visited the Stephen A. Schwarzman’s Building, which is often featured in movies.

I admired its marbled walls and floors and massive archways.

Where you can relax

Other rooms and hallways are off-limits to the public.

However, for us visitors, while you can’t browse or borrow books or do computer research, you can admire the interior design and even read on your own.

Where is the most impressive library you’ve been to? I hope you’re doing well. (:

Some facts about the New York Public Library

  • Designed in the early 20th century
  • Has Beaux-Arts designs (French inspired)
  • Cost about 9 million to complete (add in inflation for today)
